They are all over my banana trees and I can’t find any similar photos under locust, cricket or moles on the internet. They are from 1″ to over 2″ long have thin yellow detail down the middle and all the way around the carapace. yellow spots on the face and yellow stripes running down their legs. They are completely black with no wings. They are eating my banana trees and some small palms but they leave the honeysuckle in the same garden alone.

Hm….I would’ve sworn there they would be locusts, but if not then look up plant pests near your area or something, maybe then something will come up.
