England’s schizophrenic performance at World Cup 2011 doesn’t really lend itself to analysis. Quite apart from it being far from easy to account for the mix of brilliance and shoddiness they’ve served up in equal measure, as with an exquisite work of art there’s a strong case for just sitting back and enjoying it.
