BRISBANE, Australia — The West Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that Captain Chris Gayle will be leaving the tour of Australia to return to Jamaica, to be with his mother who is unwell. Team Manager Joel Garner indicated that Gayle’s mother was admitted to hospital in Jamaica and the player was granted time off to be with her.
